“Masterpieces have become part of the general educational heritage. We encounter images of Van Gogh’s works at every turn, on posters, mugs, t-shirts, on labels of Dutch canned milk and Kauhaus plastic bags. The unimaginably high price of the originals leaves people in awe. I don’t have this reverence and take a playful approach to the well-known masters. I give them a new, critical aspect and show society that art can also be fun, provided the viewer is familiar with art history.”
